Prayer Walk

Jeremiah 29:7: But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.  Our sovereign God calls us to be a people of prayer for our community.  A prayer walk is an opportunity as disciples of Christ to mobilize into Hanna City, praying specifically for her welfare.  What does this on-site intercession look like?  We team up (2-3 people or a family unit) walking through a designated block in Hanna City, praying for each resident.  Pray quietly, out loud, or in silence.  What do we pray?  We invite the Holy Spirit to open our eyes, ears and hearts to what the Lord desires.  Pray Scripture.  A handout with Scripture will be provided.  Pray for God’s blessing of redemption upon our community and for the present-hour needs of each household.  Is this door-to-door evangelism?  This is intercessory prayer.  If someone asks what we are doing, we explain that we are praying for God’s blessing upon the neighborhood.   We can ask for specific ways to pray for that person or others.

Concert of Prayer

The first Sunday evening service of each month will be dedicated to a Concert of Prayer.  The pattern for this prayer time is rooted in James 5:13-16.  We will sing and declare God’s glory to one another and to Him, confess our sin and receive His mercy, and offer prayers of intercession for one another and our world.

Cottage Prayer

Tuesday mornings (with exception of the third) are set aside for fellowship, Scripture and PRAYER.   Open to all, this prayer meeting is a time to praise the Lord and to bring before Him specific prayers for individuals, programs of the church, our pastor and his family and the officers of the church.

Prayer Chain

Just as the Holy Spirit intercedes for us according to the will of God, so we also intercede (Romans 8:26-27). The commitment to prayer for others is a sacred privilege and an example of faith in action. Contact Fred Winterroth if you would like to be added to the prayer chain. To ask for prayer for someone, contact Pastor Dave.
